I am an observer: lover of all that exists in the mist, in forgotten corners and hidden places. I see all the little details, the small things, and in them find something interesting, a story. I look closer and find beautiful, horrid, inspiring, simple, amazing or sad things.  Life is an intricate fabric, woven from hundreds of individual fibers, each strand having its own story. I live to tell those stories.

Weathered Pages, you are a kindred spirit! Hello fellow writer, I am so glad that you found my blog, so that I could find yours. Your words are lovely. Don’t stop writing, I look forward to reading more!

What a lovely message to find on a Sunday evening! My lack of blog writing of late has been mainly due to life getting in the way (busy stuff, not bad stuff) rather than a lack of enthusiasm for blogging, but after a time, it’s easy to forget what jazzed you in the first place. However, your kind words and your encouragement may just have been exactly what I needed to pick things up again and get out the books I was meaning to write about, so thank you very, very kindly. I also totally agree about the tagging/archiving – that was always going to be a ‘later’ project, I just like the idea of being able to use it as a resource as well as a comfy read!

I’m so glad you enjoyed reading the beginnings of feasts and treasure, especially if I’ve maybe convinced you to try Arthur Ransome and especially Winter Holiday. I’d love to know what you think if you manage to track down a copy!

I really can’t thank you enough for taking the time to write to me – it was so kind of you and gave me the opportunity to spend a coffee break at the office today reading your blog. You’re so honest and positive and hopeful. Keep that. Definitely keep that.

    Thank you again,
    L x
